GARDEN
If you could see the things that draw me to you
You would be free to let go and just be you
Every day I look for the time when we can be alone
With no friends and no TV, no telephone
How could it be, that time could be so short
It couldn't really be that other things are that important
Always some thing each and every time trying to keep us apart
Still I carry you with me here inside my heart
You looked at me and I could feel my pulse soar
When we first met, today it's even more so
I'm like a garden in the desert dry and waiting for the rain tonight
And you're a thunder cloud just within my sight
What could you see in me I'm old and wasting
From working too hard to keep us in this place here
Saving love and money for the time when we can both retire
Or so you won't have to work if I'm not around
Come here and rain upon my garden
Your love's a river through my garden
